7. Jagdishchandra Bose Municipal Aquarium – (Location, Timing, Entry Fees, & Main Attraction)

The existing aquarium Shyamprasad Mukherjee is an important part of the Zoological Gardens and is located in the Kasturba Gandhi Kindergarten, commonly known as Pakshig (Old Mini Zoo, Chowk Bazaar).

It includes a beautiful aquarium that contains 36 nos, 36 varieties of freshwater ornamental fishes, and clean and safe settings.

But the aquarium was destroyed in the 2006 floods.

The old aquarium could not meet the requirements of national and foreign standards and because it is not technically capable of seeing huge biological creatures, consideration was given to build a larger and more modern facility at Jagdishchandra Bose Park in Adajan.
